How do we prepare for our death and for the death of our loved ones? How can we support each other in the processes involved at the end of life? In this course we will explore how we can live well so as to prepare for a good death, without fear or regret. Our practice will be based around loving kindness, tonglen, imagination practices and open awareness. By becoming more mindful and compassionate in our approach to death, we can support ourselves and others when faced with end of life. As we become more mindful, we will be able to recognise the stages of death more easily and introduce practices to best support the transition. We will also explore fear of death, fear of pain and moving from regret and resentment towards forgiveness.\nWe expect that this course will then be followed by a part two, in a similar format but the long term aim is to set up a support group of people who have gone through this training so as to support each other in the face of bereavement and in due course in the face of our own death.\nThe course will be led by Tina Gilbert and Jacky Seery, both experienced mindfulness and compassion teachers with an interest in preparing for death. In addition Jacky has training and experience in the use of end of life holistic approaches and Tina has 30 years experience as a specialist nurse working with cancer patients.\n\nPLEASE NOTE: At points during this course, we will be sharing experiences of death and dying. If you feel these topics might be difficult to navigate or deeply resonant for you right now, it may not be the optimal time to engage with this material. As with other significant events in life, your participation depends on your current wellbeing and the support systems you have in place. If you wish to discuss anything prior to joining the course please contact Jacky – Communications@mindfulnessassociation.net.\n\nFind out more in the video below.\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/dRqFWQKP_5A” css=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]\n
