October Practice Day – A Day of Non-doing
A Day of “Non-Doing”
Sunday 29th October 2023, 10am – 4pm, with Alan Hughes
Society places huge value on doing, and this is essential in many aspects of our lives. Through mindfulness, however, we learn the value of simply being in the present moment, with an attitude of kindness and acceptance towards ourselves. Whenever we do formal meditation practice, we give ourselves an opportunity for this non-doing. But how do we find a balance between doing and being, not just in our mindfulness practice but also in our daily lives?
During this day, we will take time to purposefully stop our day-to-day activities, and take an opportunity to cultivate stillness, with no agenda other than the intention to be fully present in each moment. Through a mixture of guided practices and group enquiry, we will explore the qualities of Being, and explore what this might mean for us.
