- This training builds on the Level 1 to 3 trainings that preceded it and aims to support participants in their ongoing mindfulness practice for life by a continuing exploration of the habitual patterns of thought, emotion and behaviour that prevent us from flourishing in our lives and achieving our full human potential.
- It is ideal for those who have completed the Level 3 mindfulness training and who wish to continue to develop their mindfulness practice in the company of like-minded mindfulness practitioners.
- It meets the annual continuing professional development (CPD) requirements of the UK Good Practice Guidelines (GPGs) for mindfulness teachers.
This course is an annual 5-day retreat. It is open to people who have completed our mindfulness, compassion and insight trainings either as one year courses at Samye Ling and related centres, or as part of the University of Aberdeen’s MSc in Mindfulness Studies, run in partnership with the Mindfulness Association. Long term practitioners who have completed appropriate equivalent trainings are also welcome to apply by sending details of their experience to the Mindfulness Association.
The ‘Mindfulness for Life’ programme was established to provide a space for exploration of how we can bring the inner freedom from our mindfulness, compassion, insight practice into our lives and find creative ways to engage with the world in which we find ourselves. It is possible to be “awake in the world” and express interconnectedness rather than reinforcing the illusion of separation but we do need friends on the journey. This is a unique opportunity to gather with fellow experienced practitioners for learning, practice, dialogue and of course to experience the wonders of the Holy Isle.
