Bill has been supervising mindfulness teachers since 2018 and has experience of teaching the MBLC over 50 times to very diverse groups.

He is an independent Person-Centred counsellor (BACP) and mindfulness teacher (BAMBA). Bill is regularly employed to provide mindfulness, well-being training courses/workshops and 1-2-1 coaching in the public, private and third sector of Scotland, such as Home Start, Fife Education, Fife Cultural Trust, NHS and Social Care staff, Trust in Fife, Scottish Ambulance Service, Police, St. Andrew University, Edinburgh University, and UK military veterans to name a few.

Working with CAMHS, 2016-17 Bill was instrumental in creating and managing a Fife wide mindfulness programme for teachers, parents, and school children for Fife Education (Our Minds Matter). Working with five different mindfulness teaching organisations from Scotland, Bill played a key role in the co-creation of Mindful Nation Scotland and its launch in the Scottish Parliament in September 2019. Bill has also been employed as a consultant writing content and offering advice for the development of mental health App for young people (funded by Scottish Government and NHS Scotland). He recently published an article on mindfulness and its impact on men’s sense of masculinity.

In 2012 he started training with the Mindfulness Association (MA), which evolved into six years of study and practice: Mindfulness, Compassion, Insight, and Mindfulness for Life training. He also completed the teacher training for MBLC and CBLC, MBCT with NES, and .b with the Mindfulness in Schools Project. For two years, he volunteered as an intern teaching Level 2: Compassion for the MA.

Primarily his work now involves working at the front line of mental health, trauma, and addiction teaching mindfulness to adults and young people, but also offering 1-2-1 sessions to the public.

He regularly organises and facilitates mindfulness retreats in Fife and on the banks of Loch Tay.
