			<p>October is so redolent with images of turning leaves, warm clothes and early nights of rest. The autumnal colours of soft orange and brown serve to bring a sense of cosy comfort to this seasonal change.</p>
<p>This month’s free mindfulness calendar absorbs and uses those colours and images but also brings with it lots of mindful inspiration. The theme for this month is Gilbert’s Three systems model that looks at how our “Threat”, “Drive” and “Soothing” systems help shape our mood and behaviour. The calender gives tips on helping us manage the threat and drive and to boost our soothing system!</p>

<p>Windy and warm October, a time to snuggle up when we&#8217;re in and wrap up when we&#8217;re out, it&#8217;s a good time to bring the focus inward and check in with ourselves: am I looking after myself in this moment, in this day, in this month, in this season?</p>
<p>Our free mindfulness calendar is all about waking up to our wellbeing this month.</p>
<p>Each day there&#8217;s a prompt to bring your awareness into self care. After years of caring for others, it can feel a little selfish to do this, however, it&#8217;s the oxygen mask theory! We are much better placed to help others when we are fully charged up ourselves.</p>
<p>So we invite you, this month, to turn your attention inwards, check in with yourself. Is there anything you might give up, in order to move forward with a deeper sense of ease and wellbeing? Any new habit you might adopt?</p>

Yet, when we turn away, ignore or plough on through, we can become disconnected from ourselves, as well as all of those around us.</p>
<p>What might it be like to turn towards our struggles and of those around us with an intention of care and kindness? Perhaps, we might just find the connections that heal.</p>
