The Mindfulness Association CARES

Sometimes I have to pinch myself when I reflect on the expansion of the Mindfulness Association, since we ran our first course in 2008 and set up as a formal organisation in 2010.

The number of locations we offer the courses had expanded, as has the number of different courses, with Mindfulness, Compassion, Insight, Buddhist Foundations and Teacher Training. So many people are taking our courses and as a result are becoming happier and healthier.

Also, our membership is expanding and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for being part of the membership and for supporting our work.

We are in the process of developing a new website and I thought I would share the theme with you, which is:

The Mindfulness Association CARES about the people it trains:

blog

Compassion based – All our curriculums are Compassion based and all our tutors have undergone thorough training in Compassion meditation and so are able to embody qualities of kindness and compassion in their teaching practice and in their relationship with you.

All Welcome – Our aspiration is to promote the flourishing of human potential and wellbeing for All people, whoever they are, including you.

Recognised – Our training is recognised within the UK Mindfulness community. We are the biggest trainer of Mindfulness teachers in Scotland, we partner with the University of Aberdeen in the only Masters level program in Mindfulness in Scotland, and those who train to teach with us can meet the requirements to join the UK Listing of Mindfulness Teachers.

Ethically Motivated – We are ethically motivated, with a consistent focus throughout our trainings on a motivation to benefit ourselves and others.

Support for Life – We can support you in your practice in the long term with a three year program of training, ongoing practice support courses after that and we have built and we support a community of Mindfulness practitioners with our membership scheme.

My hope is that this sums up the Mindfulness Association and what it means to it’s members. I also hope that it is an organization who’s values you support and that you will want to be a part of for a long time to come.

Kind Wishes

Heather Regan-Addis
