Christmas Online Practice Day ~ GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE ~ Being thankful for what we have
10am – 4pm
with Alan Hughes
“The single greatest thing you can do to change your life right now would be to start being grateful for what you have today.” Oprah Winfrey
Gratitude simply involves being thankful for the things in life that are meaningful or valuable to us. This positive emotion has been shown to strengthen our immune systems, improve our sleep, deepen our relationships with other people, make us more optimistic, help us experience more joy and pleasure, allow us to be more generous, as well as help us feeling less lonely and isolated. It is like a muscle that we can learn to strengthen, so that even when things aren’t going well for us, we can find at least something small to appreciate. This can have a powerful healing effect, allowing us to experience less frustration, envy, or regret.
During this day we will be doing a range of mindfulness and gratitude practices which will be suitable for both beginners as well as more experienced practitioners. We will give ourselves the opportunity to acknowledge the positive in our lives, especially the everyday things that we often take for granted.
